C# .NET Engineer (Microservices, REST APIs, AI Agents)
Build and ship C# services on a live cloud platform, and work with AI development tools as part of how the team builds software.
The Opportunity
Join a US logistics technology client's engineering team as a C# engineer on a live cloud platform. You will build and ship services and APIs on a team that treats AI development tools as part of the daily workflow. This is a backfill, so you step into a running codebase and a team that is already moving. Fully remote, US business hours, 12 month contract that moves to an ongoing engagement at term.
What You'll Bring
- A record of shipping commercial software. 3+ years building products and services that real users depend on, and you can say exactly what you owned.
- Strong C# and .NET, with REST APIs and microservices architecture. You design loosely coupled services and can explain the tradeoffs you made.
- Cloud development and DevOps practice. You know how code moves from a merged pull request to production, and you own that path.
- Working JavaScript or TypeScript alongside the .NET backend.
- Automated testing as a habit. Unit and integration tests are part of how you finish a task, not a separate step.
- Hands on use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Copilot CLI, or Claude CLI, including agents, plugins, skills, MCP servers, and automation that change how software gets built.
- Experience building AI powered applications and agents with ASP.NET, Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, or equivalent frameworks.
- Skilled AI use that streamlines your work rather than doing it for you. You can walk through and defend everything you submit.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
What Sets You Apart
- You have built your own agents, skills, or MCP servers, not only used someone else's.
- A background in warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, or ecommerce software.
- Prior contractor or consulting experience embedded in a US team.
How We Work
AI tooling is expected here, and the team uses it to change how software is built, not only to autocomplete code. The architecture is cloud native and service based. You join an existing team and codebase, so you ramp quickly and ask early. Seniority here is measured by what you ship and how well you can explain it. If you want to build real services and agents with modern AI tooling on a production platform, this seat will fit you well.
