The Opportunity

Join a pioneering defense-tech manufacturer as a Principal Engineer, where you'll lead the architecture and development of a cutting-edge Factory Operating System. This role is pivotal in shaping the next-generation domestic artillery production line, set to launch in 2026. You'll tackle complex challenges in a dynamic technical environment, working with technologies like Go, Kafka, Kubernetes, and more to deliver robust, production-grade software that operates 24/7 on the factory floor. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, providing a decisive edge to our servicemembers.

What You'll Bring

1. Proficiency in Go, or experience with Rust/C++/Java and a willingness to adopt Go.
2. Expertise in event streaming technologies such as Kafka or Pulsar.
3. Experience with Kubernetes in production operations.
4. Familiarity with edge I/O protocols like OPC UA, MTConnect, and MQTT.
5. Strong skills in data and storage technologies, including PostgreSQL, Neo4j, MinIO/S3, and Elasticsearch.
6. Knowledge of backend services using gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and Avro.
7. Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Basic client interaction capabilities.

What Sets You Apart

1. Experience with MES/MOM or SCADA integration.
2. Familiarity with Apache Flink for real-time analytics.
3. Experience in ETL pipelines and database migrations.
4. Contributions to open-source Go projects or automation tools.
5. Experience working in AS9100 or similar regulated environments.
6. Previous consulting experience.
