Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir, Phoenix)

The Opportunity

Join our dynamic team as a backend consultant at a leading blockchain payment company. You'll be at the forefront of developing robust solutions in a cutting-edge technical environment. Your work will directly impact our industry-leading clients by enhancing their backend systems. Our stack includes Elixir, Postgres, and the Phoenix web MVC framework, chosen for its strong concurrency focus and distributed nature, all built on top of Erlang. You'll work with standard REST APIs, WebSockets, and an event-driven architecture facilitated by Oban. Our infrastructure is hosted on Digital Ocean, with APIs running on VPS, and we leverage AWS services for secure signing operations. This role emphasizes comprehensive testing across the backend, utilizing custom tools and Postman collections, with a unique approach to blockchain simulation.

What You'll Bring

  1. Proven experience with Elixir, Postgres, and the Phoenix web MVC framework.
  2. Strong understanding of concurrency and distributed systems.
  3. Expertise in REST APIs, WebSockets, and event-driven architecture.
  4. Familiarity with Digital Ocean and AWS services.
  5. Professional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Basic client interaction capabilities, with a focus on delivering impactful solutions.

What Sets You Apart

  1. Any DevOps/SRE experience, particularly in managing and optimizing backend infrastructure.
  2. Previous consulting experience in a client-facing role.
  3. Nice to have: Experience with Vue, Polygon network, and Ethereum smart contracts.
